The Group
Dr. Manfred Manßen
Group Leader
Manfred Manßen studied for his undergraduate and PhD degrees at the University of Oldenburg, completing his PhD in 2018 with Prof. Rüdiger Beckhaus. Following postdoctoral studies with Prof. Laurel L. Schafer in Vancouver and Prof. Reiner Anwander in Tübingen, he started his junior research group in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Tübingen in 2022.
His research interests lie in transition metal chemistry and their application in sustainable synthesis and catalysis.
When not in the lab he enjoys watching and discussing movies, going to the gym and playing with his cat.

Dr. Jitpisut Poolwong
Postdoctoral Researcher
Jitpisut Poolwong completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry at Kasetsart University and earned her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at VISTEC. During her PhD, she had the opportunity to be a guest PhD student in Tübingen. Her research interests focus on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis for CO2 capture and conversion.
In her free time, she enjoys watching series and listening to music.

Adrian Jenner, M. Sc.
PhD Student
Adrian Jenner studied chemistry at the University of Tübingen. He finished his bachelor’s thesis in the group of Prof. Reinhold Fink in 2017 and his master’s thesis in the group of Prof. Reiner Anwander in 2021. After visiting the ISI Language School in Tokyo in 2022, he started his work in our group in April 2023.
Apart from working in the lab, he enjoys making music, cooking, as well as gaming and writing poetry.
Awards
2023 Doctoral Scholarship (FCI)
2022 Fellowship of the DAAD for the study of Asian languages
Mirjam Rosenauer, M. Sc.
PhD Student
Mirjam Rosenauer studied chemistry at the University of Tübingen. Due to her interest in catalysis chemistry, she completed her bachelor’s thesis in the group of Prof. Doris Kunz in 2021 and afterwards her master’s thesis in our group in 2024.
In her free time, she likes to go running or training in the gym.
Phylisia Sebera, B. Ed.
M. Ed. Student
Phyli is currently studying chemistry and mathematics in the Master of Education program. Due to her interest in organic and inorganic chemistry, and the lab work, she found the perfect fit with our group.
In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, running, hiking, and playing floorball.
Laura Neumüller, B. Sc.
M. Sc. Student
Laura Neumüller studied chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and Tuebingen. She finished her bachelor’s thesis in the group of PD Dr. Mark Ringenberg in 2021. During her Master’s program she did an internship in the Forensic Analysis Laboratory at the University of Malta. Now she is doing her master’s thesis in our group.
Alongside her studies, she enjoys Zumba or just doing different activities with friends.
